WHY MINING4QUALITY?

Detected problem

Lack of knowledge about the possibilities of NIRS (Near infrared Spectroscopy) and about how to implement this technique in industries where libraries of spectra are not available, and there are not already calibrations to start working.

Reality

The NIRS technique offers enormous possibilities, but it requires previous knowledge and experience, and, in most of the cases, the day-to-day user cannot cover it because they are not fully-dedicated to the technique, and mainly, because it requires time, which the industry does not have, until they achieve an experience that allows them to obtain results that the industry can benefit from.

Proposed solution

Use the experience and knowledge acquired since 2007 implementing NIRS in an industry and looking for solutions for identification of products, to:

• Help companies to implement the NIRS, ensuring that the user, after a period of time, is able to work on their own.
• Train users on the technique (uses, possibilities, tools, what can and cannot be done, how to do it,…).
• Help to understand results and the reason for the technique.

HOW?

Qualitative analysis.

It ensures product compliance based on the spectrum. The spectrum of a product is its fingerprint. Therefore, we can control the fingerprint to obtain results that interest us and give us information. Only spectra are needed.

Quantitative analysis.

In this case, the NIRS is used to quantify a property or an ingredient that we are interested in controlling in the product. It is the most widespread use of NIR. Spectra and reference values of the property in question are needed.

About Us

More than 15 years of experience working as Quality Control Manager and Quality Assurance Manager in the food sector. Working with NIR spectroscopy since 2007 using different devices, different locations and managing a network of NIR devices.

Solving issues by near infrared spectroscopy is our passion. Mining4Quality is a NIRS and Chemometrics Consultancy that provides their experience in analyzing spectra and developing models that a company needs to start using the NIR equipment or to make the most of it.

Mission

Spreading the use of the NIR Spectroscopy in the industry.
